Michael Schmidt, Founder and CEO of Nutonian, shared several of our key performance metrics, specifically customer growth, community forum traction / participation, # of searches, and # of models being calculated per second. Additionally, Michael shared several customer use case examples as well as a sneak peek at our latest product in development.

Q: What are the challenges you see for Nutonian in the future?
MS: We have a powerful product that has helped scientists make breakthroughs in their fields, but our biggest challenge is broadening the impact of our technology to a wider audience. We plan to address this by making Eureqa simple, intuitive to use, and automated for most workflows. The goal is to ultimately empower anyone to automatically find explanations and take action on their data.
Q: What is the vision of the team and company?
MS: The vision of Nutonian is to democratize data science for the masses. The effect of helping billions of people gain PhD level insight into the world around them will be revolutionary.
Q: Who do you see as the biggest competitor for Eureqa?
MS: Currently, our nearest and biggest competitor is manual analysis and human processes. In this day and age, it’s astonishing how many businesses I talk to that are still spending months of labor and millions of dollars on analyzing charts and dashboards, or even visualizations. The amount of data that people and businesses are gaining access to is staggering, and these processes simply can’t keep pace.
Q: What are the most promising improvements planned to be implemented in the future?
MS: During the webinar, we gave you a sneak peek at our upcoming product, Eureqa Enterprise. We took the power of the core Eureqa engine, and designed Enterprise to allow business users at all levels of comfort with data analysis to automatically pinpoint clear objective explanations of insights. This could become a game changer in increasing the speed of decision-making and optimization at businesses that are feeling overwhelmed by data.
Q: Are there any plans to include optimization in the future?
MS: Absolutely. In Eureqa, finding the simplest possible explanation for your data means that optimization becomes incredibly powerful– the analytical result enables simulations, design of experiments, and interaction. In the Eureqa Enterprise product, we’re actively working on guiding optimization and recommendations from the latest data available; providing a playbook for actions and outcomes. Providing this playbook also enables a meta-analysis on what was discovered and improved over time.
